Jim Lancaster
My name is Jim Lancaster. I was born in Sheridan in 1937, attended Sheridan Schools - graduating 1955, and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello receiving a BSIE degree in 1959. My career employment was in engineering and management with Arkansas Louisiana Gas Company and Rockwell International Corp., before retiring.
I was first elected to the Sheridan City Council in 1966 and served until 1994 when I was elected as State Representative, where I served three two-year terms. I then served on the Grant County Quorum Court for three years to fill out a term of a member who had resigned. I was elected again to the Sheridan City Council in 2012 and currently serve in this position. I also am Chairman of the Sheridan Planning Commission.
I am married to Betty Cartwright Lancaster and have one child, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
